At Sunday night's Emmy awards, the stars will surely sparkle in decadent diamonds and designer dresses. But it takes a lot of manpower to make them look so effortlessly chic. "I am constantly looking for the perfect dress, the perfect shoes and the perfect jewelry," Phillip Bloch, celebrity stylist and author of The Shopping Diet, tells In Touch.
Bloch, who has styled such celebs as Jennifer Lopez, Salma Hayek and Sandra Bullock, pulls anywhere from 50 to 100 dresses for the Emmys and predicts the starlets will be wearing "flow-y, Grecian dresses (as Kate Walsh, above right, did last year). The asymmetrical dress is very in. Any variety of colors. We are seeing a lot of sculptural gowns. They are ornate, with ruffles and pleating and origami-designed dresses."
When it comes to hair, Redken stylist Tracey Cunningham, from Byron & Tracey salon in Beverly Hills, thinks and hopes people will wear their hair down more. "Sometimes when people wear their hair up, it feels too matronly." And at least one actress will be lightening it up. Cunningham reveals her client Toni Collette - above, left, who is nominated for outstanding lead actress in a comedy and was last year's winner of that category - will be blonder than ever Sunday night.
